A Holiday "Mitzvah" or Good Deed: Send a Local 4 Year Old Brain Tumor Survivor a Card

To me, the holidays are all about reaching out into the darkest time of year to share love, family and friends and break the routine to express joy and gratitude for the many things to be thankful for. Celebration can come in many forms. Reaching out to a brave and life afirming little girl who you have never met? Why NOT!

Send 4 year old, brian tumor survivor, Hannah Garman a card. No matter your creed, this little girl will appreciate hearing from you. She has had two surgeries for her tumor at Hershey Med. and she is adapting to her shunt at home. Hannah lost her Mom to cancer two years ago, but she and her Dad, Darin, Sister, Brittany, and Brother, Jordan would love to hear from you. Music Friday December CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Gallery 141 Christmas party merges with a listening room Music Friday. Two acoustic acts will be our 6 thirty and 7 thirty performances. Frank Amanze singer, songwrite plays a mix of unexpected acoustic covers and from his new CD. Check his site FrankAmanze.com for a preview. A bunch of our artists are going out of town and won't make the party but it still should be a fun evening of food, drink and live music. More updates as music gigs and times are confirmed.

December First Friday Cold Hands Hot band!

When we heard The Big Dirty we couldn't wait to book them for a gig at the gallery. December was our date and they did not disappoint. They chose to rock it in the courtyard and it was great! Iron Hill provided three varieties of home brew: India Pale Ale, Vienna, and Saison. We want to get the word out that they are another great place to go after First Friday venues are closed for dinner and a brew. They serve dinner til eleven and a bar menu til one am. Nancy Conlon brought her amazingly priced and wimsical lamp glass arts including tiny christmas trees and lots of ornaments including snow men, balls and beautiful icicles. Kristie was on hand with more of her hand made items...check out her ebay store...Sculptured Windows! Ben and Kaylin were our featured artists and they brought new work as always yet again stunning. Sanderson Images had the photo booth running. You gotta try this some time. You take your own photos of yourselves...individuals, couples, groups. You go on line and if you love it you can buy it to support charity and if not, have a laugh, and zap it to oblivion with the touch of a finger! This was a great fun First Friday in spite of a late start and bitter cold.

YES WE Did!!!

Come celebrate the victory this First Friday. As always we will have live music, with Myopics and more. Ben and Kaylin bring on new work for each month so expect to see more next month too and don't wait if you see something you like as their work is selling well. I think we have a few Obama shirts left too, but only a few so come early!

BIG Weekend at the gallery kicks off Music Friday

MUSIC FRIDAY...6-7pm Bill McConnely, 7-8 JC Fetlock and 8-9 Tristan Chord. We are making our first attempt at creating a real listening room environment for musicians. We are still very much there to serve our customers, we just want to do everything we can with this new Music Friday opportunity to give musicians what the crave, a space to be really heard and perform. The show will be indoors unless the musicians choose to be outside and either way we will have seating for guests. So come on down and support your local musicians. If not Friday, then
ARTWALK...Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-5. You will find music, outdoor vendors including beautiful Jewelry by both Kristie and a new artist Barbara Giles will blow you away, art activites including tie dye your own items with us, and Ben and Kaylin on hand to show you brand new work and their show which is selling well, so don't miss your chance to own some of their beautiful work! We are expecting perfect fall weather!

Dance and movement---we continue to support our 141 artists in their performances at this event...DON'T MISS Alicia Petricio of Alicia's Massage and Jaques Abreau who will both be performing with their dance troupes up at the square for Artwalk. We will have one of Jacques pieces up in the gallery for Artwalk.
