A Decade of hosting vibrant arts events, First Fridays, Artwalk, workshops, music series, dance events, ended as 141 closed its doors on Water Street in 2011. Co-founder and Lancaster native Alana Maubury Hunter, is now volunteering with the Loyalty Day Committe and coordinating with the Mayor's office since 2001 to restore the Bond House on Buchanan Park and bring Art Camps back to the space. Her summer camps have been held for 15 years in a yurt, primitive cabin, at Glen Echo National Park in Maryland. The studio arts camps feature calligraphy, journaling, wearable arts, for campers from age 5 to adullts. There are volunteer, internships, and jobs for qualified teachers in these programs. Her high quality art instruction and unique calligraphy and arts studio were featured in Scripsit, the influential calligraphy journal. The Bond House blog will track the restoration process of the historic building as it unfolds.
